Are the leaders accountable?
Yes, we place a high value on transparency and accountability. David, Nicola and the other pastors are accountable to each other, to the trustees and also the regional leaders Andy and Rosie McNeil (David and Nicola are area leaders for the North East).
What do you mean by site and location?
Our vision is to be one church in many places and so we have both sites and emerging locations. A site (such as Newcastle, Marley Hill or Wallsend) has site pastors, a full Sunday service and ministries and activities that serve the local community. A location is an emerging site, these may have aspects of a site, such as ministries and site/location pastors. However, Life Vineyard is one church and David and Nicola are the Senior Pastors, who lead and support all of the the sites.
What is the Vineyard?
The Vineyard is a movement of churches that was founded in the USA. There are now over 2500 worldwide and over 130 in the UK alone. John and Debby Wright are National Directors and we have a Leadership Group and Regional and Area leaders who care for and support the local pastors and their churches.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code, just come along in your regular clothes. Most people wear casual clothes like jeans, T-shirts… even shorts when it is warm. The most important thing is that you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Will I be expected to do anything?
You will not be expected to do anything, we want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your time with us.
Will my kids be welcome and have lots of fun?
Your kids are very welcome and we have some fantastic groups, where they will have lots of fun that is age appropriate.
Will people talk to me?
Yes! We have a great host team that look out for first time visitors and help them feel at home. The church is a family and so there will always be people who will chat with you and help you feel relaxed. We will give you the space to enjoy the morning if that is what you prefer.
