God’s Amazing Provision Part 1 – Practical and Financial

August 13th, 2018

God is a good, good Father and provides for His children. Jesus said this…

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! – Matthew 7: 7-11

Below are some amazing stories of how God has provided practically and financially for people at Life Vineyard Church…

“I had about less than £5 in my bank account to last me for the next week until I next got paid. I was praying and coming to the end of my 24 hour fast and a guy comes to the door with 20 quid and gave it to me saying ‘God told me to give this to you'”

“So many times God has provided for us as a couple, as a family and individually over the years! Recently I think of the provision of our home in Sunderland. It wasn’t something that we had seen advertised and someone else told us about it. Then all the work we had done and other things we had to buy – God provided us with AMAZING bargains for fixtures and fittings and even small details. We’re very blessed by all He did.”

“Our house! It’s a good few years ago now. In 2000 we lived in a small terrace and wanted a bigger house so our girls could have a room each. We started to look before we’d put our house on the market. We looked at only a handful of houses when we saw this one. As we walked in I felt God say to me. ‘You can have this if you like it.’ –  We did like it!  The house was slightly down on its luck but we knew it could be perfect for us. However the lady who showed us around said something like ‘I don’t know why they sent you to look, I have 3 people interested already.’ So we left and I thought I’d heard wrongly.
An hour or so later at our old home we received a phone call from the estate agent. Could the lady whose house we’d just looked at view our house? We explained it’s not on the market yet but yes she can.
So the lady (Pam) visits.   It turns out she is downsizing. (Sadly her and her husband were splitting up). She had heard from a mutual friend that our house was nice.
The lady walks into our kitchen and sees on our fridge a note saying ‘trust in the Lord with all your might and lean not on your own understanding’ (Proverbs 3:5), and she stops in her tracks. She says ‘I was given that verse at church last Sunday. She loved our house!
To cut a long story short we end up swapping houses. For many years she lived in our old house and we are still in hers, it has been the perfect house for us. So God provided for both of us.

P.S. … a year later the housing market went crazy and we couldn’t have afforded to buy our house! God’s timing is perfect.”

“Our daughter and her husband are moving back to the north east from London. Money is tight. She received a letter from The Inland Revenue for a tax rebate of £2000 (completely unexpected). ‘God’s provision Mum’ she said!

Amazing stories… God is a good, good Father… Ask, Seek and Knock for His help.
